These Episodes Are for You If

  • You’re losing weight on a GLP and still don’t feel better
  • You feel flat, unmotivated, or “meh” since starting the medication
  • You’re afraid of what happens if your dose changes or insurance stops covering it
  • You know weight loss is about more than the number on the scale

You Don’t Have a Willpower Problem, and That Is Why This Is Fixable

For most women, food has been doing a second job: handling stress. The hard day at work. The years of taking care of everyone but yourself. Your nervous system learned that food brings relief, and it has been sending you there ever since.

A GLP turns down that pull toward food, which is why the weight finally comes off. The stress the food was soothing is still there, though, and with nothing to soften it, it shows up somewhere else. You feel flat. You’re shorter with the people you love. And you’re afraid of what happens if the medication ever stops.

Nervous system work goes after the stress itself. When your body learns to handle stress without needing food, the pull to eat loses its grip on its own. The flatness lifts, and the weight stays off because you’ve healed the reason you were eating, whether you stay on the medication or not.

The Tool, Not the Answer: How to Get the Weight Loss and the Happiness

Why You Feel Flat: Get Your Motivation and Joy Back Without Losing Your Results

You’re losing weight, and somehow you feel less happy, less motivated, and less excited than you did before. Eliza explains why the GLP does this to some women, why it happens most to the ones who were eating over stress, and how nervous system work brings the joy back without giving up your results.

What Women Say After Hearing This

“I finally feel like there is hope that I can make changes that will stick with me and give me peace and confidence. The light bulb came on for me today. I actually cried.”

Kristen, Shift Alumni

“I want to have a healthy relationship with food again, and for the first time in months, I feel that. Now I understand why I know what I need to be doing but it seems so hard.”

Mia, Shift Alumni

“Yes, food noise is loud, but food noise is in response to something. When we just turn down the food noise and don’t deal with what it was in response to, now you have the stress without the bandaid.”

The Part the Prescription Cannot Do

Eliza Kingsford is a licensed psychotherapist, nervous system practitioner, stress and trauma specialist, and best selling author. She holds a master’s in clinical psychology with postgraduate training in applied neuroscience and the nervous system.

She started her career in eating disorder treatment centers and college counseling, then spent more than 20 years working with women struggling with overweight and obesity as a clinician, clinical director, and CEO. Along the way she worked with thousands of patients, trained hundreds of clinicians, and built an insurance-reimbursable binge eating disorder program.

She does not prescribe GLP medications and has no financial stake in them. She is for them. Her work is the part the prescription cannot do: healing the reason you reached for food in the first place, so the weight loss lasts.

She hosts the Brain Powered Weight Loss podcast.
